We loved our WW1-themed outdoor learning! We bandaged comrades and avoided trip wires whilst trudging through muddy 'No Man's Land'.

To round off #Remembrance2019 Week, Year One visited the cenotaph in the Victory Garden at the front of school! Before we went we talked about why people visit cenotaphs and what they mean. We took some time to say a silent thank you to all those people who died in the World Wars to keep others…

Y6 loved their outdoor learning! We bandaged our comrades and navigated trip wires across 'No Man's Land'.

Year 4 learned that we can use a variety of sources to learn more about historic events in the past. The children explored images, quotes,p and artifacts to learn more about what it was like during the Blitz.

Today, Year 4 wholeheartedly #embraced our outdoor learning session. Although it was rather muddy, the children #enjoyed taking part in the WW2 obstical course. 

Year 4 #evovled their art skills of blending warm tones to create a atmospheric background for our Blitz artwork. 

We've started painting our Battle of Britain spitfires! We had some great discussions about the different shades of green and why they were used. #enjoy #evolve #wemakethedifference #remembrance

Year 2 learnt all about the importance of rationing during World War 2. They used different sources to answer questions and found out about the different foods and other items that were rationed.

Today we looked at another aspect of the war effort at home and learnt about rationing. We then followed a WW2 recipe to make rock buns using some items that were rationed during the war.

Year 1 have been fascinated with our learning about evacuation during the World Wars! We looked inside an evacuees suitcase and wondered what we would take if we had to be evacuated to the countryside! #evolve

This week we are learning about The Home Front. Today we focused on the war effort at home and made our own propaganda posters.
